Management:

Johnston Group has contracted Something Wild Strategy Inc. for the management and administration of CCEC.

Our History:

Chamber of Commerce Executives of Canada (“CCEC”) has been Canada’s network of Chamber professionals since 1967!

Until 2002, CCEC was completely led by volunteers - Chamber leaders committed to strengthening the Chamber Network and developing the Chamber profession by organizing professional development opportunities. In 2002, with the support of our first-ever Executive Director, Shelley Morris, CCEC was relaunched with a membership of 80 Executives from across Canada.

Over the years, we've introduced new resources and services to support the professional effectiveness of Chamber staff. Our services include:

  • Professional Development
  • Knowledge Management
  • Recognize Excellence
  • Strengthen the Chamber Network

In 2023, CCEC approached Johnston Group to take over the organization's management and administration, while the Board of Directors continues to maintain control of the Strategic Plan and programming. Without a management expense, CCEC was able to offer complimentary memberships to all Boards of Trade and Chambers of Commerce who employ staff.

This partnership led to increased capacity at CCEC, allowing greater collaboration with the provincial executive organizations who also offer professional development training to Chambers. With the goal of increased collaboration and partnership, coordinated programming, and reduced duplication, the Chamber Federation was launched in October 2023.

On February 27, 2024 the Chamber Federation launched a unified brand:
